Vietnamese President ends Laos visit

(KPL) State President Nguyen Minh Triet of Vietnam and his high-level delegation ended its official visit to the Lao PDR on 26 August.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet and his delegation arrived here on 24 August in response to an invitation of the Lao State President Choummaly Sayasone.

While in Laos, Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet met with Lao President Choummaly Sayasone where the two leaders has talked and exchanged their views on a number of issues relating to the ties of special friendship and comprehensive co-operation between the two parties, states and people of Laos and Vietnam. The two leaders reaffirmed to further strengthen the special friendship and all-round co-operation, especially in the fields of economy, trade-investment, and resources development.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet visited Mr. Khamtay Siphandone, Lao former State and Party President, received a courtesy visit of a number of Lao leaders and visited a number of cultural, socio-economic development sites in Champassak and Luang Namtha provinces.
