"Ban Khong Lao" donates education equipment and sport gears to Lao autistic children

(KPL) The"Ban Khong Lao" (house of Laos) Project has donated education equipment and sports gears, worth 6.5 million kip, to the Intellectual Disable Group (IDG), Lao People with Disabilities’ Association.

The handover ceremony of the assistance took place yesterday at the IDG’s office, Chanthaboury district, Vientiane Capital.

The package was presented by Director of the “Ban Khong Lao” Project, Ms. Miyuki Mukai, to Ms. Phonepaseuth Vilaysack of the Intellectual Disable Group.

Relevant officials of both sides witnessed the event.

"Ban Khong Lao" is the first project established for providing humanitarian assistance to the autistic children in Laos," said Ms. Miyuki.

"It is needed to provide more help to the autistic children in this group because the place where they live is very small," said Ms. Miyuki.

In 2007, Ms. Miyuki financed some 50 million kip for the construction of the Parkthaeb Primary School in Sangthong district, Vientiane Capital. The fund was donated by Japanese individuals and herself.

She has also given ten scholarships to Lao students to further their education in Japan.

"I would further mobilise donation from the Japanese people to help vulnerable children in Laos," said Ms. Miyuki.
