NA Monthly meeting opens
(KPL) The standing committee of the National Assembly organised here on 23 August its monthly meeting for August under the 
presidency of Mr. Thongsing Thammavong, President of the National Assembly.
The one-day meeting has discussed and considered a number of important issues including a report on preparation for the seventh election to the National Assembly and details of some international conventions. These included the convention on prevention of the danger from nuclear materials; convention on putting tags on explosive plastic materials for detection purposes.
The meeting also considered the ratification for the ASEAN framework Agreement on facilitating international transportation and the convention on cross-border roads and facilities.
It also ratified the convention on a pan-Asia railway system, and the agreement on investments in the framework of comprehensive co-operation between Asean and the Republic of Korea, and the agreement on the trade production in the framework of Asean and India.
The meeting also heard a report on the implementation of the human right policy of the Lao PDR and the action plan for foreign visit of some NA members for the rest months of 2010.
