Lao Front Vice-President receives Chinese guest

(KPL) Vice-President of the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC), Mr. Tong Yeuthor received here yesterday a courtesy visit of Vice-President of China’s State Ethnic Affairs Commission, Mr. Yang Chuantang.

Mr. Tong highly valued the visit to Laos of Mr. Yang Chuantang and told the guest that he was glad to learn that the Party and government of China as well as the State Ethnic Affairs Commission of China had encouraged Chinese people and promoted their solidarity in the socio-economic development in China.

Mr Tong informed the Chinese guest of the improved living condition of the Lao people, the nation’s constant economic growth, the increased market-oriented agricultural production of the Lao people, and the political stability in the country.

He told the guest that the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party had paid attention to promoting the role of the Lao Front for National Construction in enhancing the unity of the Lao ethnic people and urging the Lao people to interpret into reality the government’s policies.

“Ethnic people in remote areas have stopped doing slash-and-burn cultivation while doing more fixed farming and animal rearing. Many of them have trained in vocational skills,” said Mr. Tong.

The Chinese guest was also informed that education had accessed remote areas and almost every village had a school and the majority of children under five accessed education and healthcare system had improved and at the moment almost every village had drug kits.
