Paklay plans to achieve 24,000 ha of monsoon rice farming

(KPL) Paklay district, Sayaboury province, has planned to achieve in having 24,000 ha of rice field planted with rice crops this rainy season, according to Mr. Vanin Sounakhen, Director of the Agriculture Promotion Division, Agriculture and Forestry Office of Paklay District.

"We expect farmers in the district will complete sowing of rice seedlings on over 24,000 ha as planned next month," said Mr. Vanin.

Besides to rice farming, local farmers are planting various types of cash crops including maize on 22,000 ha, cassava 22,000 ha, and Job’s tear 17,000 ha.

"These crops will ensure the export of agriculture produce of the district for processing factories in neighbouring provinces and neighbouring countries," said Mr. Vanin.
