Draft of E-transactions law discussed

 (KPL) More than 70 representatives of government and private sectors have brainstormed the devising of draft law on electronic transactions to ensure the facilitation of trading on cyber world of domestic and foreign entrepreneurs.

Held in Vientiane, the two-day meeting (2-3 April) was organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology and supported by the Laos-US International and ASEAN Integration Project (LUNA-Lao).

The draft law on E-transactions has been designed to impose regulations and rules as well as measures on the establishment and operation of the transaction carried out through electronic means.

"The E-transaction slaw is not only to promote the facilitation of trading through electronic system but also to help prepare Laos for its accession to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and integration into the Asean economic community," the meeting was told.
