Standing Deputy PM arrives home from Japan

(KPL) Mr. Somsavat Lengsavad, Standing Deputy Prime Minister and his delegation arrived here on 5 July, ending his 6-day working visit to Japan as a guest of the ASEAN-Japan Co-operation Centre.
During his stay in Japan, Mr. Somsavat Lengsavad was invited to attend a seminar on the investment in Laos organised by the ASEAN-Japan Co-operation Centre in collaboration with Tokyo authority. The seminar was attended by nearly 400 Japanese businessmen.
Mr. Somsavat paid a courtesy visit to Prince Akishino, met with Mr. Machimura, Chief of Cabinet Secretary, Mr. Nukaga, Minister of Finance, Mr. Saito, President of the Japan-Laos Friendship Association, governor of Ota city, the small and medium industrial city and other high-ranking officials of Japan.
The visit was aimed to strengthen the traditional friendly relation and co-operation between Laos and Japan.
The sides expressed satisfaction over the visit to each other of their high-ranking officials at each level and in the near future. Prince Akishino, the Prime Minister of Japan and other high-ranking delegations of Japan expect to make their visit to Laos.
During the visit, the Japanese side also confirmed to continue to provide its ODA and other loans for Laos.
