(KPL) The Tourism Service of Savannakhet province held on 2 September a training course on sanitation and standardisation of clean night markets for over 40 representatives of local markets, tour operators and authorities in Kaysone Phomvihane district, Savannakhet province.
Sponsored by the Sustainable Tourism Development Project, the training is aimed to promote hygienic activities in the market and making it more attractive to buyers and visitors.
Trainers from Thailand taught the participants how to sanitarily organise the market, waste disposal and garbage classification.
"The purpose of this training is to equip the trainees with knowledge of sanitary development in night markets to ensure that they have orderliness and look neat to visitors,"said Head of the Tourism Service of Savannakhet, Bountheung Sayavong.
"If we have more tourists, people in the province will have more income. In the future, we will build more night markets and aim their service at visitors from the Mekong countries," said Bountheung.
