Vice-President joins Vietnam's 65th anniversary celebration
(KPL) Vice-President Bounnhang Vorachit and Deputy Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith joined a banquet to mark the 65th anniversary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, at the Done Chanh Palace Hotel, on 1 September.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Ta Minh Chau has reviewed a long historical struggle and great achievements of Vietnamese people under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam over the past 65 years
"Vietnam and Laos are good neighbours sharing borders both on mountains and rivers, and restoring the long traditional friendly relations between the two countries, which have been founded by late President Ho Chi Minh and late President Kaysone Phomvihane," highlighted Ambassador Chau. "As a result the bilateral friendly relations have been further developed into a special solidarity thanks to the two leaders and people of both nations".
Ambassador Chau has affirmed that the Party and people of Vietnam would spare no effort to keep and strengthen their special solidarity, traditional friendship and comprehensive co-operation with the Party, State and people of Laos, lifting the ties to a new height and meeting aspiration and benefit of people in each country.
A photo exhibition under the theme “Vietnam today” marking the 65th anniversary of Vietnam and featuring the leadership ability and talent of the Communist Party of Vietnam, development and modern industrial and technological country was also held at the National Cultural Hall, Vientiane Capital on 1 September.
At the function, Lao Vice-Minister of Information and Culture, Bouangeun Saphouvong has said that over the last half century, the Lao PDR has enjoyed friendly relations and special solidarity with Vietnam.
We have cooperated in all fields from the period of the revolutionary movement for national independence till now.
The bilateral relationship has become the basis of cooperation and for the consistent mutual assistance and strengthening, he continued.
The bilateral friendship and cooperation have also been achieve and increased in accordance with mutual needs and aspirations of the Parties and people of the two nations.
