"Nagnobai" Bank releases over 39.8 billion kip of loans for southern provinces

(KPL) In the first seven months of this year, the Nagnobai Bank's branch in Champassak province has released over 39.8 billion kip of loans to local people in the southern provinces of Sekong, Saravane, Champassak and Attapeu.

The loans are mostly used in the production of cash crops and handicrafts.

"The loans released by the branch include 14.8 billion kip as short-term loans, 1.6 billion kip as medium-term ones, and 23.2 billion kip of long-term ones," said on Monday, Office Head of the Nagnobai Bank's branch in Champassak province, Mr. Kayaphone Thirakoun.

Most of the loans have been released to farmers in target poor districts in three southern provinces including Ta-oi (23.6 billion kip), Bachiengchaleunsouk (17.2 billion kip), Samouai (12.6 billion kip), Sanesay (11.6 billion kip), Phouvong (11.1 billion kip), Kaluem (9.81 billion kip) and Darkchueng (7.9 billion kip).

The branch plans to release 13 billion kip of loans in the last five months of the year, said Mr. Kayaphone.
