Sepon plans to grow more than 300,000 trees

(KPL) S epon district, Savannakhet province is planning to grow 372,193 young trees on three ha for the upcoming National Arbour Day, 1 June, said Head of Sepone Agriculture and Forestry Office, Mr. Sikhoun Banmanivong.

The plantation will be part of the Party's guideline and government's plan on increasing of forest coverage by 56% in 2015 and 70% in 2020.

The majority of trees will be grown surrounding the Sepon Agriculture and Forestry Training Centre, district football stadium and other sport venues, he added. Presently, 53 kg of seeds that can afford 372,000 saplings are being cultured.

The environment protection and natural resource conservation and awareness raising for local people under the green campaign is vital key of coming activity.
